Located within Denver’s historic Tramway Building, now Hotel Teatro, The Nickel pays homage to the space that was once used to collect fare from customers riding its resident streetcars: a nickel.
Led by a distinguished four-person chef team, we aim to make all guests feel the fondness of familiarity within our doors – from friendly and knowledgeable service, to the warmth of the wood-fire oven to the comforting aromas of home coming out of the kitchen. Menus are curated to incorporate the highest quality ingredients from farmers, ranchers, distillers and craft producers, and is comprised of dishes that are easily recognizable and feel simple, but eat complex. The Nickel also offers an extensive charcuterie program that features hand-picked meats and cheeses from around the country.
The Barrel Bar, the centerpiece of the restaurant, brings an inventive new cocktail program to the restaurant with house barrel-aged cocktails and locally sourced twists. Enjoy a barrel-aged Standard Rock Manhattan or a Nickel Negroni, made with barrel-aged gin, Dolin Rougue vermouth, Campari and orange peel.
